Why Safe Aerial Progression Matters

Published on 16 August 2025 at 23:23

Progress in aerial arts isn’t about rushing to the flashiest moves. It’s about building a foundation that lets every student fly higher—safely, confidently, and with real skill. That’s why our approach centers on safe progressions, strong basics, and a curriculum designed to help you soar at your own pace.

What Does Safe Progression Look Like?

  • Foundational skills come first. Every student starts with the basics—learning core movements, body awareness, and safety techniques that carry through every level.
  • We train both sides. Skills are practiced on both the left and right, so your body develops evenly and you’re prepared for anything.
  • Feel it, don’t just follow it. Students repeat wraps and transitions until they recognize when a skill feels right—not just when it looks right. This builds true understanding and confidence in the air.

It’s tempting to want to jump into drops, high climbs, and complex spins right away. But those skills require careful preparation and lots of repetition. By moving through progressions step by step, students grow stronger, stay safer, and gain the control needed for more advanced tricks down the road.

Our Unique Curriculum: No Gaps, Just Growth

Did you know we use our own custom curriculum to guide every student’s journey? Each level is designed to ensure you master the skills you need—without moving too fast or leaving gaps that could hold you back later. For our kids' classes, we follow a color level progression and include a video course that accompanies our curriculum lessons, supporting learning both in and out of class. Here’s how our kids' levels work:

  • Red Level (Beginner): Offered in part 1 and part 2 sessions, this is where everyone starts building strength and confidence.
  • Yellow Level (Advanced Beginner 1): A 16-week session focused on expanding your skills and refining technique.
  • Blue Level (Advanced Beginner 2): Another 16-week session that prepares you for intermediate challenges.
  • Green Level (Intermediate): For students ready to take on more complex skills, with plenty of time to practice and perfect.

Any student who completes the full 16 weeks of Red Level is eligible to join our competition team at the novice level. As you move into upper levels, you can progress into higher tiers of our competition team and even be considered for our performance team!

For adult classes, we offer three levels that combine elements of the kids' curriculum to match adult learning needs:

  • Beginner: A blend of Red and Yellow Level skills for a solid foundation.
  • Intermediate: A combination of Blue and Green Level progressions, supporting growth into more challenging skills.
  • Advanced: Integrates advanced Green Level curriculum and material taught to students on our performance team and competition team members competing at the advanced level.

Why Take the Time?

Proper progression means safer, stronger, more confident aerialists—students who can take on complex skills with ease and control. We’re passionate about making sure everyone’s journey is safe, supported, and successful, whether you’re just starting out or looking to reach new heights.

If you’re ready to experience the difference of a thoughtful, step-by-step approach, explore our class offerings and curriculum today. Your journey is unique, and we’re excited to help you succeed at every stage.

Blessings,
Ms. Peggy
